Do you love playing with LEGO? We bet you don’t even use the building instructions - just a good splash of imagination to create something incredible! Now that you are getting older, are you ready for your next challenge? Are you looking for something new and exciting to try? Are you ready to work with kids who share similar interests? Or, perhaps you begged your parents for the latest LEGO MINDSTORMS kit and you need some help getting started?
Welcome to the world of E-Bots where we offer instruction, exploration and competition through a number of different options that explore the world of robotics using the LEGO Mindstorms kits. And don’t worry – convincing your parents will be easy!
Here’s the pitch to help you out! It’s educational! When you can learn by doing, you remember it better than if someone simply tells you! We will have you solving problems, being creative and working in teams. But don’t worry, we won’t tell them the most important reason - IT’S FUN!
Everyone starts with the basics. This will be something you haven’t had to do before with your other lego kits. You will have to learn how to program your robot to the design and the task the robot has to do. As you build your knowledge of these mechanisms and structures, you will be doing all of this with other kids who share this same interest you have.
After you've learned the basics, then what? Well, you have found a new hobby. You can join the club, the E-Bots Club on Friday nights or perhaps during a summer week and work with other kids your age to complete different challenges and compare your results in a fun and competitive get together at the end of each session. You also can buy your own Mindstorms kit and play with it at home or with friends.
If you like the competitive part of the club so much then we also have FLL, First Lego League that happens Sept- Nov. every year. We sometimes refer to it as "REP LEGO" as it is a big dedication of your time and attention.
NEW this year will be ebots@home. Do you have a Mindstorms kit at home and you rarely play with it? Not sure where to start? This fall we will be posting an @home challenge for you to work on at home by yourself or with your friends. Then come and compete against other "lego hobbyists".

What an opportunity you have to introduce your child to the FUN world of lego robotics through our club sessions. Your child will be exploring science, technology, engineering and math in such a meaningful way.
Our hands on approach has so many advantages in this fast paced technology age we live in. We firmly believe that in order to truly learn science, we must "do" science, it must be fun and clearly result in developing the curiosity, competency, creativity and caring of the kids that are involved in it.
We are assuming that the children who sign up will all ready love to build lego! Emphasis in our foundations of programming levels is programming and group interaction. We are here to encourage and support the process of building knowledge to produce a result; the point at which a child can be tasked to build a robot using their own knowledge of design and basic programming constructs.
We encourage children to process their learning as an in-depth investigation with the robots, and to draw meaning and understanding from these experiences. We have received many comments from parents on how different their children's approach to a problem can be after working through some programming problems. That is good, we want to have "problems" so they can learn from them and have real life applications for the results. After all that is what a hobby is all about!

Our mission at E-Bots is to engage children so they will explore and then ultimately excel.
As an educator we are hoping that we might be of service to your personal growth through workshops we offer or perhaps to your school as a potential resource to install your own lego robotics program in your school.
Last spring we ran a very successful Wee-Bots 1 program at lunchtime in a Montessori school. If your school would be interested in this opportunity, please contact the office.
